I created this version of the classic game RISK on a 2ft globe in 2014. It was built out of large globe, part of a decorative wooden lamp for the base, and a custom metal support cradle. It took about a year to finish and comes with almost two dozen different civilizations to go into battle with. Due to the curvature of the game board it was necessary to make the land masses of the map magnetic in order to keep the pieces attached to the surface. An added feature in this version is that the magnetic land masses were covered with chalkboard paint so players can draw in their own boarders. With the territorial expansion the globe’s land masses offer over the official map, new areas and countries were added to better fill out the spaces. The result is a game you must stand up and spin around to play. You cant conquer the world sitting down after all. The different civilizations include historical and original armies, all made of metal. The full list comprises of: The British Empire, The United Stated of America, The Soviet Union, The Canadian Armed Forces, The Cubes, The Spheres, The First French Empire, The Third Reich, The Byzantine Empire, The Holy Roman Empire, Imperio Español, The Celtic Kingdom, Skynet, The People’s Republic of China, British West Africa, The Ottoman Empire, The Egyptian Empire, The Muslim Caliphate, The Empire of Japan, The Feminist Movement, The Greek Empire, and The Chess Army.
